It is a series of portraits of contemporary writers whose work is closely related to the capital of Poland. Warsaw is diverse, so also the views on it are varied. The protagonists of my cycle are presented in their stories, which are sometimes dark, at other times humorous. They describe the history of the city, bring its present day closer, and sometimes let their imagination run free and enter the future or the worlds of parallel reality! They always perceive weighty issues, transfer them to paper, and provide unusual, puzzling information.
Words have become a tool for them to make art and life meet. This is how they set up an area full of complex relationships. The same applies to my work. I also care about starting cognitive processes, building participatory relationships, interactivity and developing relationships. I believe that the way my portraits are presented provides a clear expression of their meaning.
The project was realized thanks to the Scholarship of the Capital City of Warsaw for people involved in artistic creation in 2012.
